If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: bloating, muscle pain, joint pain, swelling or pain in the arms or legs, stomach pain, unusual weight gain for women, breast pain or swelling in men. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusually fast heartbeat, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor.

Progesterone is a female hormone. It is used to treat amenorrhea (lack of menstrual flow) and abnormal uterine bleeding. It may also be prescribed for use in the treatment of endometriosis.
This medication may cause nausea, headache, depression, itching, increased hair growth, increased sensitivity to sunlight, changes in menstrual flow, increased vaginal secretions, breast tenderness, fluid retention or pain and irritation at the injection site. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop a sudden severe headache, vomiting, dizziness, fainting, pain in the calf associated with warmth, redness or swelling; breathing trouble, sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, changes in vision, or numbness in the arm or legs while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

The capsules should not be used after the expiry date that is printed on the packaging. Store in the original blister pack and in the original outer carton. The capsules are stable over a wide range of temperatures and therefore no special storage conditions are necessary. Keep the capsules out of the reach and sight of children.

Utrogestan is prescribed for postmenopausal women who are taking estrogen (hormone replacement therapy); it prevents a buildup of the lining of the uterus and abnormal bleeding. Utrogestan also may be prescribed to restore menstruation if your menstrual periods have stopped.
This medicine may make you feel tired or dizzy.You may notice changes in your menstrual flow or bleeding at times other than the withdrawal bleed. Your doctor may make changes to the way you take UTROGESTAN Capsules if this happens.You may feel sick, have an upset or bloated stomach, gain or lose weight or have swollen ankles. You may notice changes in your breasts or they may become tender. You may develop a rash or other changes in your skin such as acne or urticaria. You may develop leg or pelvic vein thrombosis. You may notice changes in genital secretions or a change in libido (interest in sex). You may have a raised temperature, depression, pre-menstrual type symptoms or difficulty in sleeping. You may lose hair, or notice an increase in hair growth. If you notice a yellowing of the skin (due to jaundice)whilst taking UTROGESTAN Capsules, stop takingthe capsules and see your doctor. If you experience any of these side-effects and theypersist or become troublesome consult your doctor. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any unwanted effects that are not listed here.
